Made in Germany in 1999. He is fully jointed with nice long arms. This gorgeous Teddy Bear was created exclusively for the visitors of the factory shop at the Margarette Steiff Museum in Giengen, Germany. He is a Limited Edition of 3200 bears made in 1999. He has been sewn from a luxurious, rich hued, russet mohair with contrasting sand, wool felt paws.He has gleaming black eyes with the sweetest of hand stitched features , giving a glorious appeal. Around his neck, upon a white silk ribbon, is an oval porcelain medallion.
The medallion has been printed with a picture of a teddy bear alongside an elephant of wheels, with the wording MARGARETTE STEIFF MUSEUM. THIS COLLECTOR'S ITEM IS NOT A TOY! The stuffed bear with moveable arms and legs didn't arrive until 1902.In order to make their own high quality products unmistakeable, and fend off numerous cheap imitations they developed the brand sign "Steiff - Button in Ear". At the world exhibition in St. Louis, Margarette was awarded the Gran Prix, and finally in 1906 Margarette Steiff GmbH was founded the company name which is still used today.
