Steiff presents Teddy Boy 1905 Bear

In 1902 Richard Steiff, a nephew of Margarete Steiff, designed the first jointed bear. His invention was presented to the public during the 1903 spring fair in Leipzig. Soon after this event, the Steiff "Teddy Bear" became famous the world over.

Since these early days, collectors and enthusiasts around the world are showing an ever growing interest in Steiff teddy bears. This teddy bear was called "Teddy Girl" and Steiff made in 1997 a replica of this Steiff-Bear with the name Replica 1905, mohair, red-brown, 50 cm. The Margarete Steiff company presents now a replica of a family member of this popular Steiff teddy bear, the Teddy Boy 1905. The teddy bear is 50 cm in size and is made of finest genuine mohair.

The bear has five joints and is stuffed in a traditional way with wood shavings. His nose and claws are hand embroidered with loving care. The paws are made of precarious felt and the replica is fitted with a double squeaker. The white ear tag is consecutively numbered and finally, there is of course that famous button in the ear, the unmistakable symbol for true exclusivity. Limited edition of 6,000 pieces worldwide.
