This particular bear is part of the personal collection of Bea Skydell, who ran a doll shop in Middlesex NJ, Bea Skydell's Dolls & Toys. Bea was a personal friend of Otto and Margit Steiff. This bear has been maintained in a climate controlled/non-smoking/pet-free environment. Stands approximately 17 inches tall. 100th Anniversary 1903 Replica Teddy Bear #0153/43 with Box & Certificate Of Authenticity. This Steiff bear is a Limited Edition and is a replica of the 1903 bear. These bears celebrated the 100th anniversary year of Steiff and was the first boxed limited edition bear. Papa Bear was limited to 11,000 bears worldwide and 5,000 of those 11,000 were issued with a Certificate of Authenticity in English. The jointed bear has a coat of blondish mohair fur with an embroidered nose, mouth and plastic eyes. Label states All new material including Filling 100% excelsior Cover, 50% mohair, 50% cotton -PA 55- MASS 73. The original white tag is in his left ear.

Front of the tag reads "Steiff 0153/43" and the back reads Made in W. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that is numbered 2203.

Certificate is written in English. Bear also comes with its original box. Box is in GOOD condition with NO rips or torn edges. Plastic top shows yellowing due to the age.
