Early Steiff Teddy Bear, Twelve Inches, Beige Mohair, Early 20th Century
For your consideration, I present an early Steiff teddy bear from the early 20th century. This bear is made of beige mohair and stands twelve inches tall. It has the Steiff button in the ear. She has dark eyes, brown stitched nose and mouth, claws (which may not be original), beige paw pads (which look like replacements).
The top and back of the head appear to have been shaved; I have no idea why. There are a couple of patches of wear, but the mohair is largely intact and in good shape. From a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
