Antique Vintage Mohair Merrythought Panda Teddy Bear 1930s Excellent Condition
Antique Large Merrythought Panda Bear 1930s Great condition. Beautiful old super quality panda bear who stands out in the crowd. Nice firm wood wool stuffing to the head and body, kapok in his arms which are jointed, slight compacting to arm stuffing not noticeable, joints working well. Lovely facial stitching and clear glass eyes.
His mohair is clean and soft having been carefully hand cleaned with very little ware. All velvet pads are good one with a tiny hole still very secure, a stitch repair to secure his ear. Non working squeaker in tummy a couple of stitches loose on his back. So all in all a fab bear for a collector whos looking for a Panda in great shape and has stood the test of time. Hes very tall and stands firmly unaided, displays beautifully.
This Panda was released by Merrythought in 1938 to celebrate the arrival of the first Panda Bear to arrive at Londons Zoo. He Will be boxed and sent signed for post.
