Antique/Vintage 11.4 inch golden yellow Mohair Steiff Teddy Bear. All pads original felt that has some wear with stains and moth holes.

Marked: cloth tag under right arm, Made in US Zone. Firmly stuffed but nor sure with what. Size: 11.4 in (29.1 cm).

Description: Unusual color of Golden Yellow Original Steiff Mohair Teddy Bear. Has vertical inverted sheild/ triangle nose of black floss, auburn glass eyes, 4 claws on all paws. Felt on mouth has significant wear.

Wear to mohair, some on back, mostly on front about 1/2 approximately. This bear was created after 1930s-but before 1953.

US Zone cloth tag evident. The Steiff factory was taken over in early 1940s by Germany's Military to use for munitions plant. Before they could destroy all the factory's holdings, Steiff employee's came in at night and took as much as they could to place in various buildings/homes over the area.

Over 15 cm Bears had vertical stitched nose, these early Steiff's and 1949 (- 1964) Steiff Original Teddy under 15 cm had horizontal stitched nose. Your satisfaction is important to us.
