1995 LARGE 17 STEIFF COMPASS ROSE LE US Edition TEDDY BEAR with Box & COA
Steiff Bear w/ Box & COA. Presented for your consideration is this adorable LIMITED EDITION Steiff teddy bear. The bear was produced in 1995 and is the "Compass Rose" bear that was made exclusively for the United States. It was made to pay tribute to and commemorate the first year that women entered the America's Cup Races. It is a jointed bear with a coat of dark rose mohair with light tan felt pads, embroidered nose and claws.
The bear is jointed at the legs, arms and head. All joints move with ease and the growler sounds when the bear is moved from an downward to an upward position. Around its neck is a 24 karat gold plated compass rose (the same that would have been used by sailors) strung on a white satin ribbon. In the ear is the original white tag that reads Made in Germany by Steiff. Knopf Im Ohr 650819" on the front and "L.
The bear comes with its original box and certificate of authenticity. Bear and certificate are marked 2699 of 3,500 pieces produced.This adorable bear would make a wonderful addition to any stuffed animal or Steiff collection! There is some browning of the fur on the top of the head and limbs, possibly settled in dust; may come clean with a good surface scrubbing. The bear is free of odors.
Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Box has some wear and indentations. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details. Bear measures 10" from hand to hand, 6" from the front of the nose to the back of the head and 17 tall. These charges are the buyers responsibility.
