Americana Doll is on loan from mom for display only. Baby Sam (named after his Uncle) is a very early IDEAL Teddy Bear (1905-07) and is in very good condition. He is a Fully Jointed, mohair Teddy, stuffed with excelsior.

Baby has a triangular shaped face, has shoe button eyes and a very nice hump back. His nose, mouth and 5 claws on each paw stitching is all intact and in great condition.

Sammys original wool felt paw pads are also in great shape. There is some thinning of his mohair. Excelsior has separated mid-way down each leg making sitting his preferred method of display. The last photograph shows Baby Sam's head placement.

When lining up the seam on the back of his head with the seam down the center of his back his natural head position places his chin over his right shoulder not the center seam on his chest. This position gives the little tyke an adorable, happy expression!

I would imagine this feature is unique unto little Sam although I can not say for sure. All items from The Kissable Muzzle come from a smoke free environment.
