Steiff Teddy Bear Millenium Band. This the Millennium Band which consists of five lovingly crafted Steiff Teddy bears on a wooden stage ready to make some music.

This is a rare and hard to find Steiff bear band... Each bear is dressed in a velvet jacket and plays one of the following musical instruments: drums, clarinet, banjo, trumpet or trombone. All of the bears are, of course, marked with a white, consecutively numbered Steiff ear tag and carry the famous "Button in Ear".

As a special feature, this unmistakable symbol of genuine exclusiveness has been gold-plated. Margarete Steiff, the founder of the most famous Teddy bear factory of all, was born in July 1847. Only 55 years later, in the year 1902, Richard Steiff, a nephew of Margarete Steiff's, designed the first bear with moving joints. His invention was presented to the public at the Spring Trade Fair in Leipzip in 1903. Since those days, the interest of collectors and lovers of Steiff Teddy bears all over the world has grown continuously. To mark the start of the new millennium, Margarete Steiff GmbH is presenting the Millenium Band in a limited edition of 2000. Wooden stage measures 20" wide, 12 1/2" deep and 17 3/4 high. Each fully-jointed bear is about 8 tall. Original certificate and box are included.
